Q: What exactly do you do?
A: Our primary focus is on discipleship and training African Christians. Through this we carry out a lot of outreaches, relief projects, evangelism, discipleship seminars, leadership development, community outreach, etc. You can read more on our What We Do page (there's even a video!)
Q: Missionaries have been working in Africa for hundreds of years. Is it really necessary for your family to be there?
A: Although there has been a lot of evangelism throughout Africa in the last century, there has been very little discipleship (which is why each generation is having to be re-evangelized). This is a monumental task and requires a significant investment of time and regular involvement. Africa also struggles with maintaining Biblical integrity in the church leadership, and there is a huge, ongoing battle with false teaching and witchcraft. Having missionaries to provide Biblical teaching, Bibles, discipleship, and an example of Christ-centered living (in all its glory and agony) is essential if we want to see the Church grow.
Q: How many people do you lead to salvation every year?
A: The honest answer is: we don't know. African culture is such that people will often do what a leader asks them regardless of their personal opinion or belief. This is a way of showing respect in their culture. In these cases, we pray for the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts and bring them closer to Christ through His grace and some time spent with the Word through discipleship. One of our regular discipleship programs is training pastors, teachers, and believers how to evangelize not just to "pray the prayer" but to inspire people's hearts to follow Christ and genuinely seek Him through real life change. A big part of this is praying for the Lord to open the hearts of people to hear His Word and respond. You can be a part of our ministry here by praying for the people of Africa to truly HEAR the Word and respond from their hearts. You can read more about praying with us on our Pray With Us page.
Q: Do you see a lot of wildlife?
A: Yes we do! We are so blessed to live in a country rich with wildlife. Check out our Newsletter page for lots of amazing photos.
Q: What denomination are you affiliated with?
A: Our ministry is non denominational. In terms of ministry activities we will work with any church/group of people that is interested in pursuing the Gospel and Jesus Christ. In partnerships we work with Trinitarian, Bible-believing churches. We always try to focus on the common ground we share with various churches and try to help them where they need it most. If you would like to know more, please see ITMI's Statement of Faith.
Q: What can we do to help practically?
A: There are several ways that people can help us practically. Outside financial support, we also need Bibles for distribution. There are many training needs that we are not necessarily well qualified to meet so we love to facilitate volunteers (teachers, pastors, short term missionaries with projects, etc). We also need people to raise awareness about our work in the USA, as this is key to raising prayer and financial support. Please contact us if you would like to help in some way!
Q: Are you paid or do you raise funds?
A: We are not paid by ITMI. We trust the Lord to provide the funds for our family, ministry, and outreaches. If you feel led to help us, please go to our ITMI support page here.
Q: Can I use photos or newsletters from your site?
A: Please Contact Us for more information. Short answer: probably. But please get permission first.
Q: When will you be in the USA again and do you visit churches, small groups, or families?
A: Yes, we love to share our stories and photos! Networking with churches, small groups, and fellow believers is a key part of ministry. You would bless us hugely by giving us the opportunity to share about what the Lord is doing in Zambia. Please Contact Us if you are interested in hosting an event or meeting us!
Q: Where can I read more about your work?
A: There are several ways that you can read more about our work and subscribe for updates (sent very irregularly... don't worry, we will not flood your mail box or inbox!)

Q: How can we pray for you?
A: Where do we start!? We are held up, sustained, protected, and blessed through God's grace and the prayers of His people. We need God's blessing and intrinsic involvement in our ministry and His hand over the hearts and lives of the people we hope to reach. Please see our Pray With Us page for specific prayer and intercession points.
